America V Payne

Birth: May 19, 1857
Death: 1879

Info from:
Death date calculated by adding 22 to birth date as she is listed as 22 years old.

There seems to be two burial locations for America
plus there seems to be an error in her birth/death dates at mccullough.txt.

The other FindAGrave entry is at Mount Zion Cemetery:

It lists America Valentine Bradburn Payne as dying on 19 May 1857 rather than being born on this date. Note that the mccullough.txt source lists her as being born on 19 May 1857. (It would be easy to understand that someone interpreted a "b" as a "d" on a worn grave stone sometime in the past.)

I think that IF America IS buried HERE in McCullough Cemetery,
the entry at mccullough.txt is wrong.
I do not think she was born in 1857, I think she died in 1857....
which matches the data at the other memorial.

In addition, her probable husband of Addison Payne (1830-1906)
has a memorial and extensive history at:

I have excerpted info about America below:

"In 1850 he (Addison) was united in marriage to Miss America V. Bradburn, who was born in Simpson Co., Ky, in 1834, and was a daughter of William Bradburn. Of this union there are two living children: Reuben (county court clerk), and Martha (wife of John S. Page). In 1856 Mr. Payne left his native State, and immigrated to Sullivan Co., Mo, locating upon the farm now owned by S. McCullough, which he rented one year. The following year he purchased 320 acres in Section 29, Township 63, Range 19, where he has since resided. In May, 1857, Mr. Payne lost his wife, and in December of the same year wedded Amanda Hill, nee Braden, daughter of William Braden. "

So the big question is:

Is America buried in Mount Zion Cemetery or McCullough cemetery?

I note that no one has taken a photo of the grave stone in either cemetery.
What has complicated this of course is that any grave stone would probably be worn away by now since she died in 1857. Would there have been any significant stone anyway?

Kevin Casey just went through McCullough Cemetery in early July 2010 and did not find her grave stone there either except that he did find two worn stones.

I hope someone out there can help us solve this little mystery.
