Lance Cpl. Steven R. Bowman, 20, Rt. 1, Clear Spring, died in a helicopter crash October 21 on Mindora Island, Republic of the Philippines.
Born in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of Allen R. and Ethel E. Faircloth Bowman of Rt. 1, Clear Spring.
He was a member of the Broadfording Church of God.
Besides his parents he is survived by eight sisters, Mrs. Sue D. DeWitt of Spring Mills, W.Va., Mrs. Beverly Dietzel, Duluth, Minn., Mrs. Sharon R. Mann and Mrs. Patricia L. Weaver, both of Hagerstown, Cynthia R. Bowman, Kimberley R. Bowman, Debra J. Bowman and Kelly D. Bowman, all at home; three brothers, Alan B. Bowman, at home, John G. Bowman serving with the U.S. Navy in San Diego, Calif., and Kevin G. Bowman, at home.
Services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Broadfording Church of God. The Rev. Raymond Renner will officiate.
Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Wednesday evening from 7 to 9. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart Fund, Kidney Foundation or the Broadfording Church of God.
Full military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Marine Corps.
