MICHAEL TORRICK, 48, of 404 Exeter St., East Syracuse, died yesterday at Veterans Administration Hospital after a short illness. Born in Buffalo, Mr. Torrick lived in East Syracuse most of his life. He was assistant supervisor of maintenance at the DeWitt yards of the New York Central Railroad. Mr. Torrick was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes and a veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church and a member of its Holy Name Society. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carmella Paone Torrick; a son, David Torrick; his mother, Mrs. Mary Riss of East Syracuse; two brothers, John Torrick and Peter Riss of East Syracuse; three sisters, Mrs. Donald Francisco, Mrs. William Wise and Mrs. Catherine Haynes, all of East Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 8:30 a.m tomorrow at Cline Funeral Home, 206 Kinne St., East Syracuse, and at 9 a.m. in St. Matthew's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Minoa. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
