Jane Gilbreth Heppes, 83, died at a hospice in Longview, Washington. She was born to Frank B. Gilbreth and Dr Lillian M. Gilbreth. She was the youngest of 12 children whose life was written about in the books "Cheaper By the Dozen" and "Belles On Their Toes"
She attended Montclair schools and graduated from the University of Michigan. She married George P. Heppes on May 20, 1944. Jane is survived by her husband, George; two daughters, Paula Berzanski and Laura Jane Roiter; a sister, Ernestine Cary of Reedly, Calif.; three brothers, Fred Gilbreth of Larchmont, N.Y., Daniel Gilbreth of West Caldwell; and Robert Gilbreth of Franklin, N.H.; and two grandchildren.
