A loving husband, father and "paw paw," he passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010, at his home after a yearlong battle with lung cancer. He was 60 and a lifelong resident of Denham Springs. He never gave up hope and fought his disease with a positive attitude every step of the way.

He was a decorated Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1972. He was employed at Nelson Service Co., of Denham Springs, from 1972 to 2009. He will be greatly missed but will be forever remembered through the wonderful memories we all have of him.

Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs,in charge of arrangements. Funeral service conducted by the Rev. Laverne King and the Rev. James Kent.

Burial in Salem Cemetery, Walker.

Survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Morrison Allen; daughter, Jena Allen Yokley-Earnhart; sons, Jason Allen and Ryan Allen; sisters, Jackie Allen Strickland and Jeanie Allen Dodd; brother and sister-in-law, John Ed and Shirley Allen; and grandchildren, Brianna Allen, Kalyn Yokley, Jace Dixon Allen, Jillian Allen, Phillip Earnhart, Britton Allen and Brinnon Allen.

Preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Katherine Allen.

Pallbearers will be Paul Gore, Randy Ballanger, David Dodd, Brad Dodd, John D. Allen and Matthew Smith.
