Lewis Dana Hooper was born in Hartford Connecticut on October 16, 1892 to William E. Hooper and Julia Emma (Daigle) Hooper. He lived in Hartford and worked in the printing business.
Lewis met Ethel Winifred Lawrence (b. Nov 23, 1893) of Bristol, CT. They announced their engagement in the Bristol Press on April 1, 1914 and were wed on Aug 4, 1914 at the Prospect Methodist Church in Bristol, CT. They resided in Hartford for a time, but by 1918 they resided in Bristol, CT. They had five children together, four of whom lived long and fruitful lives.
Lewis second married Ellen C. Erickson (b. 16 Jul, 1906) of Chicopee, Mass. in May of 1930. The couple resided in Springfield, Mass. for over 20 years. During this time Lewis was employed with the Moore Drop Forging Company. After a brief illness, Lewis died at home on March 7, 1951. He was buried two days later in Oak Grove.
In addition to his four children by his first wife, he was also survived by their eight grandchildren. His second wife and their son, Carl E. Hooper, also survived him.
