Elder C. B. Denny united with the Primitive Baptists in 1866. He was ordained to the preaching of the gospel in 1886. He took care of the churches within the bounds of Fisher's River Association. For a number of years, he taught school. He faithfully served in the southern army through the Civil War, represented his county in the state legislature. He was married early in life and has a family of nine children.
