William Buckle Died Saturday
William Thomas Buckle, son of John C. and Harriet Buckle, was born in Northup, Ohio Aug, 17, 1863 and passed away in the Stafford hospital April 17, 1954 at the age of 90 years and eight months.
The family moved to Kansas in 1883 and settled on a farm north east of Stafford. He was married to Etta L. Turner on Dec., 25, 1885. To this union two daughters, Bessie and Blanche were born. Etta passed away in January 1900.
In 1902 he was married to Martha Jane McMillan. To this union two children, Ruth and Bill were born. Mrs. Buckle passed away in 1929.
Mr. Buckle was a retired farmer and served Stafford county as probate judge from 1931 to 1935. He also served as township trustee and was a member of the school board for many years. He was active in farm organizations and took a keen interest in state and national affairs. He was a member of the Christian church.
He is survived by three daughters, one son, a sister, Mattie M. Buckle, one brother Charles F. Buckle of Whittier, Calif. Also three grandchildren, one great grandchild and a great number of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2:30 in Peacock & Soice chapel with Clifford Hauxwell officiating. Internment was in the Stafford Cemetery.
