HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, NOV. 30 - Mrs. Mary Blake Spohn, believed to be one of the oldest residents of this vicinity, died yesterday in her ninety-eighth year at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Neely, 79 High Street.
Mrs. Spohn was the wife of the late John M. Spohn, former village trustee, who for many years served as gardener on the LeBoutillier estate, now the site of the Ravensdale development. Mr. Spohn was trustee in 1881, 1882, 1887 and 1888.
Born in County Meath, Ireland, Mrs. Spohn came to this country 70 years ago and has lived 65 years in Hastings and the last 14 years with Mr. and Mrs. Neely. Mr. Spohn died 30 years ago and his wife continued to live alone in their Rose Street home which she later sold.
Surviving are a niece, Miss Madeline Blake of New York City and two nephews, Edward and Thomas Blake of Spring Valley, NY.
Funeral services will be held with a requiem mass Monday at 9:30 A.M. at St. Anthony's R. C. Chapel, Nepera Park with the Rev. J. W. Murphy, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Yonkers.

Mary was the daughter of Thomas Blake and Margaret Kavet. She immigrated to New York circa 1870 and married John M. Spohn 7 Oct 1897.
She had two brothers, Thomas Blake and Edward C. Blake. Edward, immigrated to New York circa 1869. He lived in Yonkers and married Margaret Lowe (1856-1907) and had a daughter, Anna Madeline (or Madeleine)(1876-1950). Both his wife and daughter are buried in St. Joseph's cemetery in Yonkers.
Mary Blake's other brother, Thomas, immigrated circa 1880. He lived in Irvington and married Mary McDonnell (1858-1896). They had at least five children: Margaret (b. 24 Jul 1881), Anna (b. 5 Sep 1885), Thomas (b. 1 Mar 1888), Edward Joseph (b. 17 Mar 1892), and Mary (b. 28 May 1895). He died in Spring Valley, NY on 3 Jan 1911.
