Mrs. Delilah A. Holeman Coulter passed away Thursday morning, November 6,1930 at 8 o'clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. Alvin (Vesta Elvetta Holeman) Hollenberg. Mrs. Coulter was found about 4 o'clock the previous morning in a serious condition, alleged to be caused by taking carbolic acid in a fatal attempt at suicide.
Delilah A. Jones was born August 14, 1846 in Delaware County, Indiana and was the daughter of Matthew and Elizabeth (Black) Jones.
She was married to Albert Smith Holeman on March 20, 1887. Four children were born to this union, two of whom preceded her in death.
On April 26, 1930, she was united in marriage to Harry Coulter of Elmhurst, where she went to make her home for a short time.
Mrs. Coulter had lived in the Roseville community since 1885 and had many friends here who are sorry to learn of her death. She took an active part in the life of the community and was well known by everyone in this vicinity.
Those who are left to mourn are her children Mrs. Alvin Hollenberg and Clarence Holeman, both of Roseville; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Elinor Jones McDonald of Kansas City; and Mrs. Monita Jones Taylor of Peoria, IL; two brothers, W.C. Jones of Topeka, Kans. and George Jones.
Two children passed away a number of years ago. One son, Herman, passed away in 1921 and another, Mitchell died when he was a year and a half old. Two brothers preceded her in death.
The funeral services was held Saturday afternoon November 8 at 2 o'clock at the Roseville Christian Church and were conducted by the Rev. J.G. Slick of Eldora, Ia. Interment was in the Roseville Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be W.A. Carr, Charles Carr, Glenn Howard, Frank Pratt, Roy Stubberfield and W.C. Wilkinson.
