Robert D. Risch 79, Indianapolis, long-time prominent bond attorney died September 9, 2004. Mr. Risch was born on September 20, 1924 in Washington, IN to the late Lawrence and Jessie (Dunbar) Risch. He graduated from DePauw University in 1946 and continued his education at Harvard Law School, graduating cum laude in 1948. Mr. Risch joined the law firm of Ross, McCord, Ice & Miller (now Ice Miller) where he eventually became a senior partner. He was a member of the American, Indiana, and Indianapolis Bar Associations, the N.A.A.C.P., and the Indiana Civil Liberties Union. In addition to his law career, Mr. Risch was a strong supporter of the Y.M.C.A. and had served as the chairman of its board of directors. Mr. Risch was an avid jazz fan and was a member of the Indianapolis Jazz Club and had served as treasurer of the International Association of Jazz Record Collectors. He was widowed to Margaret (Goutal) Risch. Survivors include his wife, June Bantz Risch; children, Katherine "Katie" Cahow (Brad), Lawrence Risch; step-children, Dr. Mark W. Bantz (Sigrid), Deborah Rees (Charlie), Robert "Bob" J. Bantz (Diane); grandchildren, John Cahow and Margaret Cahow; Diana, Mike, and Mark Bantz; Amanda and Alex Bantz; Daniel Hayes, Mary Tuttle; James and Jessica Bantz; Great Grandchildren, Colton Raybourne, Gary Bantz. Friends and family will gather on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Leppert Life Story Funeral Home, Nora Chapel, 740 E. 86th St. Bob's celebration of life service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home, followed by light lunch and refreshments.
