ST. JOSEPH – Raymond J. Wolfe, 73, St. Joseph, died at 9:15 p.m. Monday (Nov. 29, 1965) at Mercy Hospital. He had been in ill health for about two months.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Freese Funeral Home, St. Joseph, with Rev. Charles Hale officiating. Burial will be in Patterson Cemetery near St. Joseph.
Friends may call from 7 – 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 19, 1892, a son of Andrew and Emma Hartman Wolfe of Palmyra, Ind. He came to Illinois in 1912 and farmed in this community most of his life. He married Ethel Marsh in St. Joseph on July 28, 1917.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Richard of Sidney; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Sippin of Alexandria, Va.; Mrs. Ruth Shoukry of Brookings, SD; eight grandchildren; one brother, Clarence, Erie, Pa.
Two brothers preceded him in death. He served on the St. Joseph High School board of education for several years and he was a member of the Methodist Church in Palmyra, Ind. He was once a member of the Swine Breeders Association.
