Bazil was the son of John Clements & Mary Queen. He married Lavinia Ward on 26 April 1870. He later married Malinda Jane Kidwell & they had 1 son.
Basil Clements, of Co. A, drafted man enrolled and mustered in Sep. 22, 1864 in Evansville by Corp. Blyth Hynes as a Private at age 34. He was 5Œ 0.50 tall, fair complexion, hazel eyes, and dark hair. Born Nov. 18, 1829 in Martin Co., IN, employed as a farmer, single, resident of Alfordsville, in Daviess Co., IN. Discharged Jul. 10, 1865 in Indianapolis, IN with rank of Private. Notes: In Nashville Hospital Jun. 9, 1865, to convalesce. Transportation furnished to Indianapolis Jul. 8, 1865. Married Lavinia Ward 1870 then Malinda Jane Kidwell 1874. Resided Martin Co., IN 1880-1910. He filed Invalid Pension Application to receive Pension Certificate #298000 Aug 23, 1884, in IN. Died Feb. 13, 1912 in Washington, Daviess Co., IN and buried as Bazil in St. Johnfs Cemetery, C-EN010, Martin Co., IN. Malinda J. filed Widowfs Pension Application to receive Widowfs Pension Certificate #739708 Feb. 14, 1912, in IN.
