She was the daughter of Samuel John and Annie Davis Baker, and she was survived by a sister, Kathleen Davis Baker wife of Frank Philip Foster of Sanford, Florida.

Maria married James Edmundson Ingraham on June 19, 1872 in St. John's Church in St. Louis, Missouri.

She and her daughter, Kathleen, actively participated in the city's social life, a definite asset to to the Florida East Coast Railway executive. Teas, luncheons, dinners and dances all provided with some of the most famous and influential families in the nation.

From every part of the United States by mail, telephone, telegraph, and even cable from England, messages of congratulations came to Mr. & Mrs. James E. Ingraham upon the occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary on June 19, 1922. Friends in St. Augustine, and many from out-of-town gathered at their home, 32 Sevilla Street, to extend in person their congratulations and best wishes.
