Ella L. Burnette
POLKVILLE Ella Lee Burnette, 94, of the Silver Bluff Nursing Home, Canton, formerly of Polkville, died Oct. 24, 2000, at her residence. She was a native of Greenwood County, S.C., daughter of the late David Lee and Nannie Flinn Burnette, retired in 1970 as a school teacher, taught in Waco, Kannapolis, member of Polkville Baptist Church, North Carolina Retired Teacher Association.
SURVIVORS: Sister, Myrtle Burnette Smith; nieces and nephews
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Brothers, William H. and Marion Flinn Burnette; sisters, Louise Burnette Whisnant, Gertrude Burnette Lattimore
FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Friday, Polkville Baptist Church, Rev. Alton Martin, body will be placed in church 30 minutes before service
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 3 p.m. Friday, Bold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Greenwood, S.C.
VISITATION: Following service, church

I will never forget Miss Burnette. She was my wonderful first grade teacher and wrote letters to me while I was in college getting my own teaching degree. A gentle and gifted teacher, she truly cared for each one of her"children."
