Mr. Sidney Williams Dead
A spirit of sadness is inevitable when a young person is called upon to make the supreme sacrifice and depart from the stage of nerve-driven action. Mr. Sidney Williams was in his later teens--bright and filled with ambitious desires. His life was opening upon young manhood, and his school associates proclaimed his future full of bright promise. But the Grim Reaper demanded its toll, and his life went out to pay the forfeit-exacted of all humanfolk.
A victim, first of influenza, which later settled on his bowels, was the cause of death. When death came into the nearer reaches it was decided as a last resort, that the sufferer be placed under the surgeon's knife and he was removed to the Long-Bartley Sanitarium at Duncan Monday night, but the end was so near that the operation was not undertaken. Then the tired spirit winged its flight to the Mercy Throne to find rest in the bosom of his Redeemer.
The funeral services were held at the Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, Elder Gardner of Duncan, conducting the preaching services. Interment was had in the Comanche Cemetery. The friends of the grieving relatives will, so far as kindly words can do so, relieve the poignancy of the great loss which has entered their hearts.
