Ernest Stanley Cornman, 68, of Templeton, Boggs Township, died Saturday, April 5, 2008, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 29, 1939, in Mosgrove, a son of the late Ernest "Red" Cornman and Mary Jane (Johns) Cornman. Ernest was a retired steel worker at Cousins Construction Co. He belonged to the Pine Creek Sportsman's Club and the Templeton VFW. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, time with his family and his dog, Susie. Ernest is survived by his wife of 23 years, Glenda (King) Cornman; daughters, Melissa Smith, of Kittanning, Melinda, of Verona, and Dawn (Albert) Brown, of Brackenridge; son, Matthew (Jeannie) Cornman, of Kittanning; grandchildren, Angie (Cory) Baker, Shane (Ashley) Cornman, Jeremy Johns and Jared (Milissa) Johns; great-grandchildren, Caleb Baker and Hunter Johns; brothers, Richard Cornman, of Templeton, Jack (Denise) Cornman, of Kittanning, and Dwayne (Melanie) Cornman, of Kittanning; sisters, Pat (Russell) Stitt, of South Carolina, Nancy (Larry) Slagle, of Fairmount City, Eva (Ed) Steffy, of Kittanning, Helen (Kenneth) Schall, of Rural Valley, Jean Chestnut, of Ford Cliff, Jan Rodgers, of Butler, Diane (Jose) Motta, of Stroudsburg, and Anita (Byron) Heckman, of Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathy (Coleman) Cornman; two brothers, Tom and Chuck Cornman; two sisters, Melody Sue and Jo Ellen Cornman; and son, Mark Cornman. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, Kittanning, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. David Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Pine Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
