Edward, who resided at 135 Sixth Avenue, Wilmington, Delaware, served as a Private First Class with Company F, 358th Infantry Regiment, 90th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on August 19, 1943 in Camden, New Jersey. He was noted as Single, without dependents.

He was "Killed In Action" at Cherbourg, France during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.

He had served in the Army for nine months at the time of his death.
