Matilda Rishel Hilbern Dies Here September 7
Matilda Rishel Hilbern, 79, of 335 Henry Street, Shelton, died in the Shelton General Hospital Friday, September 7. Services will be held Wednesday, September 12 at 1 o'clock from the University Funeral Parlors in Seattle. She was born December 12, 1866 in Youngstown, Pennsylvania.
She is survived by four sons, Merle Rishel, Shelton; Ira Rishel, Tacoma; Ivan Rishel, Portaland and Herbert Rishel of Seattle; one daughter, Mrs. Ann Johnson, Shelton; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Steele of Snohomish and Mrs. Etta Williams of Seattle; one brother, Amos Estos of New York; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She had been a Shelton resident for the past six years.
Note: Youngstown is in Ohio, not Pennsylvania. From her census records, it appears that Matilda was born in Pennsylvania and they may have possibly meant Young Township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.
