Mr.W.J. Braden,prominent merchant of Mentz,succumbed in the Santa Rosa hospital in San Antonio last Friday night at about eight o'clock,following an illness of several weeks.He had been in the hospital since April 12th,and had undergone an operation.
Funeral services were held at the residence in Mentz Sunday at four,Rev.Sullivan of the Mentz Catholic Church officiating,and the remains laid to rest in the Mentz Cemetery.
Mr.Braden was well known in this community of his birth.He was married to Miss Addie Miller on Nov. 6,1906,celebrating his silver wedding last fall with a big feast and dance at which many of this community were present.
He is survived by his father,Mr.Jacob Braden,three brothers,F.A. and Andrew of San Angelo and Herbert of Mentz,five sisters,Mrs.Felix Feist,and Mrs.Albert Streicher of San Angelo,Mrs.Herman Feist of Lorena and Mrs.Adam Ritter and Mrs.Jesse Weishuhn of Mentz,the wife,four daughters and one grandson,to all of whom our sympathy is extended in their great loss.
