John Henry Stickney was born in Black Rock, New York on April 10, 1848 to Orrin Stickney (born September 2, 1806 in Weybridge, Vermont. Died October 4, 1849 in Middele Vermont)and Emeline Scott (born about 1810 in Vermont. Emeline and Orrin married October 4, 1829). I believe John's first wife was Clarissa Adaline Shumway. Together they had one child, May C. Stickney. "Addie" died in 1878 when May was only 2 years old. John then married Addie's widowed sister-in-law (her brother's wife), Carrie Guyon Shumway.
