Norman, who resided in Millsboro, Delaware, served as a Sergeant and aerial gunner on B-24D Liberator #41-24041 with the 538th Bomber Squadron, 382nd Bomb Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
He enlisted in the Army on January 22, 1943 in Camden, New Jersey. He was noted as Single, without dependents.
He was killed in a plane crash in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Washington State after departing Pocotello Air Base in Idaho which was believed to be a training mission.
He had served in the Air Corps for eight months at the time of his death.
