Johannes Vögelin-Dubach, 35, coffee man in the à-la-carte-reataurant, was born at Reigoldswil, Switzerland. He went to England to find a job. On 16 June 1900 he was married to Lina Dubach from Lützelflüh, Kanton Bern, Switzerland. This happened in Westminster, London. They had three children (b. 1899, 1902 and 1903) and the couple lived at 8 Lumber Court, London WC.
Before joining the Titanic Johannes Vögelin-Dubach had worked at other ships of the White Star Line, the last was the Olympic. His wages were £1 15s a week. He began work on the Titanic on 6th April 1912.
He died in the sinking. His body, if recovered, was never identified.
Johannes Vögelin-Dubach left a wife, 34, and three children (Johanna, Lina Rosalie and Hans Alois; from 8 to 10 years). The widow received a compensation of £300 from White Star Line (paid weekly £1-2 in the beginning, later £4). From the Lord Mayor Fund she was paid £50. The outstanding wages were for 6 days - 30s. Lina Vögelin-Dubach died on 25 May 1950 in London. His mother also received from Lord Mayor Fund £30 (paid weekly 35s).
