In 1790, he built the Anderson Hotel. The Anderson Hotel is located just outside of Port Murray in Anderson, Mansfield Township, Warren County, NJ. The village of Anderson (formerly Andersontown), is named in his honor. The hotel-tavern was originally called the Joseph Anderson and Son Hotel. Joseph Anderson and Son also operated a distillery from 1810-1852.

George Creveling was also the President and a member of the Board of Trustees for the Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church in Stewartsville NJ. where he and his wife are interred. George Creveling was also an Elder in the 1st Presbyterian Church of Washington, NJ. He resided on a farm of 100 acres located on the south side of Washington Ave. in Washington, NJ. The land was later sold by his heirs and was subdivided into building lots and was developed into what is now known as Washington Proper South.
