The only child of Joseph Grant Rogers (1888-1957) and Minnie Luella Allen (1889-1922). After his mother died, Paul and his Dad traveled by freight car hopping between coal camps. His Dad was a coal miner and Paul would go to the camp schools while his Dad was working in the mines. One of the places where they lived was in Rugby, CO, near Walsenburg. Grandpa Rogers was a miner in the Rugby Mine and Dad went to school at the Rugby school. Neither of which exists now. Dad and I went to see the place in 1963. There were only the building foundations left, but we did find the house where he and his Dad lived and the school that he attended.
Paul later went on to become an accountant in Colorado Springs and also to meet and marry Mary Alta Cunningham (1912-2011) in 1946.
They had three children: Janet Marie (1948-present), David Paul (1950-present), and Joseph Eugene (1952-present).

It was 25 years ago today Dad that you left for Heaven. A quarter-century has gone by and it still feels like it was only yesterday. Sleep well Dad until we're all reunited for all eternity.|
