Estah Cornelia Sperry, 91, formerly of St Elmo, died Wednesday, May 31 at 12:48am in the Fayette County Hospital.
Estah was born in Wheatland TWP, Fayette County on July 30, 1908. She is the daughter of Albert and Eliza (Chrisman) Stine. She was a former member of the Royal Neighbors. Mrs Sperry was a housewife, and was employed as a nurse's aid for a number of years in the Mark Greer Hospital in Vandalia, and the Decatur Memorial Hospital. She married Walter Sperry on February 14, 1927 in St Elmo. He preceded her in death May 18, 1988.
She is survived by daughter-in-law: Mrs Carl E (Betty) Sperry Sr of Bloomington. Five grandsons: Carle Eugene Sperry Jr of Peoria, Michael Mahon of Loogootee, Gary Mahon, Darrell Scott and Walter Todd Mahon all of St Elmo. Six great grandchildren and two great great granchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Carl Eugene Sperry Sr, and daughter Clida Mae and John Mahon.
