Esther V. Hamlin, 93, of Amarillo died Wednesday, June 9, 2010.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Robert E. Field, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St.
Mrs. Hamlin was born April 26, 1917, in Shattuck, Okla. She moved to Amarillo in 1956 from Shattuck.
She worked as a cook for the Amarillo Air Force Base for several years. She retired as a cook from Amarillo ISD after many years of service. She loved to cook for her family and friends and anyone in need of a good meal.
She married Leroy Hamlin on June 5, 1938, in Shattuck. He preceded her in death in 1999 after 61 years of marriage.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staffs of Country Club Nursing and Rehab and BSA Hospice for the loving care they extended to Mrs. Hamlin.
Survivors include a son, James R. "Bob" Hamlin of Amarillo; a daughter, Betty Jean Rannals and husband Gene of Amarillo; four grandchildren, James E. Rannals, Stephanie Shelton, Erik W. Hamlin and Misti R. Hamlin; and six great-grandchildren.
