Mr. John Roy Harris, age 94, of Halfway, passed away Friday June 11, 2010, in Dallas County Care Center in Buffalo, MO. He was born December 12, 1915 to Riley and Ella May (Cooper) Harris. He was an educator.

Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Nell Mary (Anderson) Harris; 4 brothers Alton Harris, Cecil Harris, Jesse Harris, and Leo Harris; 3 sisters Inez Hanks, Clara Harris and Ettie Harris.

He is survived by his niece and her husband Janet & Jackie Bays of Halfway, MO.

Funeral services for Mr. John Roy Harris are 11:00 am Monday, June 14, 2010 in Pitts Chapel of Bolivar with Brothers Jackie Bays, Jeff Julien and Ronald Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Chapel Cemetery in Gainesville, MO. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 (one hour prior to service) on Monday in the funeral home.
