Bill "George W. " Duncan, 77, of Saint Joseph, MO passed away Saturday, May 15, 2010 at his home in Saint Joseph, MO.
He was born January 15, 1933 in Amazonia, MO, son of Flora and George Duncan.
He graduated from Savannah High School class 1951. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.
He married Betty Gilpatrick on January 13, 1960 and they shared 50 years of marriage together.
He worked at Crouch Brothers, MNX, and Miller Brokerage as a truck driver. He was a member of Charity Zeredatha Lodge #189 A.F.& A.M., a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason, the Moila Shrine International, Legion of Honor, Cushman HD74, and Hot Sand Bugs, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #49. He was a Christian.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Roger Stewart, two brothers, Lyle and Clifford Duncan.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Duncan of the home, three sons, Max Kendall of St. Joseph, MO, Dan Stewart and wife Jacky of Wichita, KS, and Jim Stewart and wife Kim of Nortonville, KS, a daughter, Pam Hitchings and husband Ron of St. Joseph, MO, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, three brothers, Richard Duncan and wife LaDonna of Plattsburg, MO, Wilbur Duncan and wife Geneva of Savannah, MO, and Steve Duncan and wife Debbie of Savannah, MO, a sister, Joann R. Wells of St. Joseph, MO, as well as several nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Rev. James Barnett officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The interment will be at the Savannah Cemetery.
