She married Levi Hughes, the son of Olive & Mary Catherine Pulliam Hughes, on May 29, 1896 in Jessamine County and they raised their family near Wilmore. The couple were the parents of Harper Hill, Jeffie Mae, Nannie, William, Charles E. and Albert Lee Hughes. Mr. Hughes passed away, in 1923.
After she was widowed, Pauline moved to Lexington. She, later, accepted an invitation to live in the home of her son, Harper, in Akron, Ohio. Mrs. Hughes spent the remainder of her life in that city. She passed away, from the effects of cardiorenal vascular disease and a cerebral hemorrhage.
