Opal Nell Bottom 89, of Oneida, passed away April 30, 2010, at St. Mary's Medical Center of Scott County in Oneida. Born in Pall Mall, February 16, 1921, she was preceded in death by her parents, Zelmer and Alta Crouch Wilson; her husband, William L. Bottom; brother, Cordell Wilson; daughter-in-law, Joyce V. Bottom; and nephew, Larry Gray. She is survived by her children: Eugene Bottom of Helenwood, and Ruby Newport and husband, John, of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister, Maxine Perry of Chatsworth, Georgia; special niece, Katie Carroll, and nieces, Stella Reece, and Paterica and Carline Wilson; special friend, Edith Maney; and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted May 3, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Rev. Kermit Phillips and Rev. Hertis Phillips officiating. Interment was conducted May 4, at York Cemetery in Pall Mall. West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
