Selmer Rodne, 100, of Harvey, formerly of rural Manfred, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the St. Aloisius Care Center in Harvey.

Selmer Rodne, son of Haldor and Delia (Ring) Rodne, was born September 9, 1909 on his parents farm north of Manfred where he grew up and began farming at an early age with his brother Tom. He received his education in a nearby country school and later attended a business college in Fargo.

On January 17, 1947 Selmer was married to Nora Ramsfield at Harvey. They made their home on the Rodne farm and continued to farm until retiring in 1979. They have resided in Harvey since 2003.

Selmer was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church of rural Manfred until its closure and has since been a member of the Hoff Lutheran Church of Heimdal.

He is survived by his wife, Nora; 1 sister, Ruth Skiftun of Harvey and a number of nieces and nephews.

Selmer was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Tom, Harley and Louis; and 3 sisters, Clara Rogelstad, Gilma Howard and Selma Berve.

Funeral: Wednesday, June 9, 2010 2:00 p.m. at the Hoff Lutheran Church in Heimdal.

Visitation: Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden.

Burial: Bethel Lutheran Cemetery of rural Manfred.
