Obituary: V. Kyle Trout Teacher

AIRVILLE - V. Kyle Trout, 79, of Airville, died at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday at York Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth (Johnson) Trout.

The service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Stewartstown Presbyterian Church, 16 College Ave., Stewartstown. Burial will be in Round Hill Presbyterian Cemetery in Felton, with military rites by Stewartstown American Legion Post 455 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7046 in Stewartstown. Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, with Masonic rites at 7 p.m. at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mr. Trout was born Sept. 4, 1919, in Hopewell Township. He was the son of the late Jesse C. and Sophie (Anderson) Trout.

He was a teacher, having taught vocational agriculture, woodworking and industrial arts for 17 years in high schools in both York and Lancaster counties. He also owned and operated a farm for 22 years in East Hopewell Township. He was a member of Stewartstown Presbyterian Church, its Sunday School and served as a trustee, treasurer, elder and Sunday School teacher since 1945; member and past president of Pennsylvania State Vocational Teachers Association, National League of Masonic Clubs, Pennsylvania State League of Masonic Clubs and Square Club of York 1052; member and past master of Shrewsbury Lodge 423 of Free and Accepted Masons; director for Conservation Society of York County; registered Scouter since 1944; past scoutmaster for Troop 27 Stewartstown Boy Scouts of America; served as district commissioner, assistant commissioner, scoutmaster and troop committee member, where he received Scouters Key Award, Scoutmasters Key Award, Silver Beaver Award and Wood Badge Beads Award, and was named Outstanding Rural Scoutmaster in 1956. He was director for Adams Electric Cooperative, where he was appointed and elected to the board, served as board secretary, board president, on the Budget and Audit Committee, Insurance Committee and its Planning Commission. He was director and past secretary of Pennsylvania Rural Electric Cooperative Board; director of National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corpora tion Region 1; and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Trout also is survived by a daughter, Mary Jane Sechrist of Airville; two granddaughters; and two sisters, Nellie C. Fix and Helen J. Gemmill, both of Stewartstown.

Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Douglas M. Beltzner.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stewartstown Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 277, Stewartstown 17363.
