BOONE COUNTY SUPERVISOR DIED AT HOME IN CALEDONIA
Caledonia, Ill., Sept. 14 - Alexander McCathran, 66, prominent Caledonia farmer and a member of the Boone county board of supervisors the last three years, died suddenly at 5:30 p.m. yesterday of a heart attack at his home north of here.
Mr. McCathran was born in the home in which he died on March 1, 1868, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John
McCathran. He was married March 1, 1899 to Miss Mary Breckenridge. Besides his widow, he leaves
two daughters, Mrs. Harvey J. Greenlee and Mrs. Thomas P. Andrew, both of Caledonia; and two
sisters, Mrs. William G. Smith, Argyle, and Miss Nettie McCathran, Pasadena, Cal.
Besides serving as a member of the county board, Mr. McCathran had been a highway commissioner
and school trustee, and was a former trustee of Willow Creek Presbyterian church. He was a member
of the Willow Creek church and Roscoe lodge, A. F. and A. M. Funeral services will he held at 2 p. m. at the home the Rev. Thomas Baxter officiating. Burial will be in the Argyle cemetery.
