You know what? Looking back over the years, Mom lived a magical and charmed life. It was loaded with love, laughter, and adventure. Oh, it had its valleys along with its peaks, but all in all, it was a good life!

Jennie Robertson De Haan, born July 16, 1911, a woman of great faith, passed away on June 6, 2010 Care Source Hospice in Holladay, Utah.

She was the youngest of ten children born to Charles and Elida Prisbrey Robertson. Her very happy childhood was spent in Blackfoot, Idaho and then she resided in Ogden, Utah, where she graduated from Ogden High School.

She married Wilford Hyrum De Haan in the Salt Lake Temple in 1934 and continued to live in Ogden during the early years of their marriage. They had nine children, five sons, then four daughters, losing the last of each shortly after birth. Wilf and Jen lived most of their married life in the Millcreek area and had been together sixty years when he died in 1994.

Jennie loved the Lord, her fellowman, and her family and was always helping others. She loved the beauties of the world, especially birds, flowers, and fluffy clouds. She was a true homemaker and her home was always open to friends and family.

She was well known for her wonderful home-made candies, bread, and nutritious meals. She was a truly wonderful mother and grandmother, always willing to sacrifice for our good, and an example of how to fearlessly experience life with its enjoyment and sorrows.

A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she served throughout her life in many positions and with Wilford on a mission to California, Sacramento in 1975. She loved to read scripture and study the gospel and was also a well-informed and loyal citizen of her beloved country.

Jennie was also preceded in death by her siblings and is survived by her sons: Bruce R. (Rose), C. Greg (Cheryl), R. Brian (Bonnie), Paul D. (Ursula) and daughters: Sharen Christiansen, Elaine (Leon) Lindberg, Renee (Craig) Bevan, fifty-one grandchildren, eighty great-grandchildren, and five great-greats.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2010 in the Garden Heights Ward Chapel, 2220 East Fisher Lane (2935 South). A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the Church on Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment: Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery.
