Maxine Godfrey

June 26, 1932 ~ May 23, 2010

Roscoe and Maxine Godfrey

Roscoe Godfrey, 79, passed away on May 23, 2010, near Alamogordo, New Mexico, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
The following day, his beloved wife, Maxine, 77, passed away due to injuries sustained in the same accident, joining him in eternal rest.
Maxine was born in Spanish Fork, UT, on June 26, 1932, and Roscoe in Murray, UT, on March 10, 1931. Maxine attended Spanish Fork High School and Roscoe attended Jordan High School. A restaurant in Spanish Fork was the scene of their first meeting.
They married May 28th, solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They began their lives together in the Salt Lake Valley, where Roscoe worked at the Salt Lake County- Cottonwood Sanitation District, starting at the bottom and eventually working his way to the top, serving as Manager until he retired.
They later moved and made their home in Hurricane, UT where they continued as dedicated members of the LDS Church. Mom and Dad were empathetic, compassionate, loving parents and our best friends.
Together they enjoyed boating, traveling, four-wheeling and camping with the family. As a couple, they especially enjoyed landscaping and gardening. Dad tended to the yard as Mom lovingly cared for her flowers.

*They are survived by their children: Max (Rose), Debra Morrison, Cindy Smith, Gary (Tracey), Jeanene (Les), Rick (Shellee), Lorri (Bill) and Chuck (Teresa).

They are also survived by 27 grandchildren and 72 great-grandchildren.

Maxine is survived as well by her brother, Earl (Carolyn) Davis; sisters, Joyce (Rodney) Jolley, and Lila (Werner) Christensen.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, David Max and Myrtle Woodward Davis.

Roscoe was preceded in death by his parents, Wilford Earl and Erma Maude Miller Godfrey; brothers: Wayne, Charlie, Cal and Gene; and sisters, Ruth and Jeanette.

They were also preceded in death by their sons-in-law, E.F. Morrison and Mark Randolph.

Their highlights in life were their family. They gave their family the most ultimate gift, "a bond that will last forever." Heaven received two angels. They were a part of everyone they touched.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., at The Hurricane 12th Ward Chapel, 452 N. 2600 W., Hurricane, UT.
