Author. She worked for several San Francisco, California newspapers before marrying author Charles Gilman Norris in 1909. She wrote primarily novels, but also short stories and one play and contributed to magazines. Her published works include "Mother" (1911), "The Callahans and The Murphys" (1924), "The Foolish Virgin" (1928), "My San Francisco" (1932), "Bread Into Roses" (1937), "The Venables" (1941) and "Family Gatherings" (1959). Her collections are stored in the Special Collections Departments of the University of California, Los Angeles, and Stanford University.
