Marilee Beryle Watkins, 80, of Burlington, died at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born April 9, 1921, in Pleasant Grove, she was the daughter of Buryl and Myrtle Henry Fleenor. On Dec. 17, 1939, she married Robert Junior Watkins in Yarmouth. He died March 14, 1996.
Mrs. Watkins worked for Chittenden and Eastman for 16 years. She retired in 1983.
She was a graduate of Yarmouth High School. She was a member of Shinar Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Shinar Cumberland Presbyterian Women. She was a former Sunday school teacher, church elder and ladies aide.
Survivors include one son, Robert Watkins of Marion; one daughter, Carolyn Schenk of West Burlington; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Visitation will begin after noon today at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Watkins will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Shinar Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Robert Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Shinar Cumberland Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.
A memorial has been established.
