Jesse Ellsworth was born in Rockingham county, Virginia, in the part now in Pendleton county, West Virginia, on June 18, 1785.
He married Elizabeth Innis, a native of County Down, Ireland, on March 22, 1804, and nine children are recorded for them.
Jesse and his family lived and farmed in Madison township, Clark county, Ohio.
Jesse died at the home of his youngest daughter Drusilla in Lafayette, Madison co., Ohio, on February 9, 1854.
