Edward C. Bartlett, 76, Holton, died Aug. 15, 2004, at a Sabetha care facility. He was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Denison, the son of Chester B. and Ida Patton Bartlett. He graduated from Denison High School in 1945 and lived in the Holton and Denison communities all of his life. Mr. Bartlett was a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of Carpenter's Local 1445 and was active in the Elk Creek Good Sams Camping Club for several years. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Holton. He married Marbeth Lukens on May 19, 1951, in Denison. They divorced. He married Carol Stoffel on Oct. 10, 1981, in Holton. She died March 10, 1998. A son, Roger Bartlett, also preceded him in death in 1997. Survivors include two sons, Scott Bartlett, Holton, and Jay Bartlett, Osawatomie; a brother, Lynn C. Bartlett, Owasso, Okla.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 30 at First United Methodist Church in Holton. Private family inurnment will be in Holton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church or the Apostolic Christian Home, sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
