Mr. Pickering was a longtime resident of Salina and had worked for the Union Pacific Railroad.
Survivors included three sons, Larry, Jerold and Kent; a daughter, Judy; his mother, Mrs. Margaret Pickering; six sisters, Mrs. Catherine Bachofer, Mrs. Virginia Shivers, Mrs. Mary Swanson; Mrs. Helen Larson, Mrs. Arvis Ringle and Nancy Pickering; three brothers, Harold, Robert and Stanley; three grandchildren; and his former wife, Edna.
