William ''Bill'' H. Gross, Sr.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th, 2009, and thereafter a graveside service was held at the Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery. The McComas Funeral Home assisted the family and friends.
On August 31, 2009, William "Budgie" H. Gross Sr. of Creswell passed away. Mr. Gross, beloved husband of his late wife Jeanette, is survived by his loving children; sons William "Steve" (Shirley) Gross and William "Bill" Henry (Dale) Gross Jr.; daughters, Mary Louise (Jimmy) Cruise, Susan Elizabeth (Glenn) Turner, Brenda Lee (David) Krause; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and brother, Earl Richard Gross. In addition to his parents, Earl William Gross and Bertha Elizabeth Gross, he was predeceased by his daughter, Linda L. Gross.
He retired, after 32 years, from the United States Government where he was a generator maintenance specialist. He was known as "East Coast Gross" or "Budgie" by many of his friends. He enjoyed driving his vintage cars including his restored 1948 Crosley sedan, and he was a member of the Harford Region Antique Car Club for many years. He also enjoyed woodworking and visits from his children and grandchildren.
