Fort Worth Record of June 17th, 1907 Prof. Witt Gets Married That "Cupid will find a way," was fittingly illustrated in a wedding that occurred in Fort Worth yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the home of Dr. C.W. Daniel, pastor of the First Baptist church. The contracting parties were Prof. M.K. Witt of Comanche and Miss Nellie M. Stevenson of Baylis, Ill. Dr. Daniel performed the ceremony, which was a private affair. The beginning of the pretty little romance which culminated yesterday was laid about a year ago, when Miss Stevenson went to Comanche from her home at Baylis, Ill., and took charge of the millinery department of the Comanche Mercantile company, Prof. Witt became a resident of the town about the same time, having been elected principal of the High school there. The two became acquainted and the courtship ensued.Saturday Miss stevenson left Comanche for a summer's visit to her home and to the northen markets. Prof. Witt desired that his wooing be rewarded without further delay and he boarded the next train leaving Comanche and arriving in Fort Worth yesterday morning, overtook Miss Stevenson, and the marriage followed yesterday afternoon.Prof. Witt will be principal of the Connanche high school during the next term. Prior to going to Comanche he was principal at Hico, Lampasas and Sweetwater. The newly married couple engaged apartments at Hotel Worth yesterday afternoon, but will leave today for a summer's visit to Newkirk, O.T., St. Louis, Baylis, Ill., Chicago, New York and the Janestown exposition.
