Agnes was born in Glasgow, Scotland in September 1880 although she claimed it was 1882. She had siblings...Daisy, Mary, James (who moved to Canada.) In 1907 she came to Ellis Island and shortly thereafter married Willian Steele Cook in New York City. He was a finish plasterer, accomplished at making those dimensional plaster designs on ceilings and walls that were popular at the time.
