AUSTIN — Services for Carl Hudson Allen, 94, of Austin, formerly of Belton, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton.

Burial will follow in North Belton Cemetery.

Mr. Allen died Friday, May 28, at his home.

He was born on Nov. 9, 1915, to Pearl Baker and Harry Allen Sr. in Belton. He was a 1935 graduate of Belton High School and attended Tarleton State College in Stephenville. On May 26, 1941, he married Charlotte Horton.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corps and was stationed at a B-29 bomber base on Saipan in the Mariana Islands and was discharged in 1945. He worked retail sales and was in the ice manufacturing and distributing business in Belton. He moved to Austin in 1966. He was a longtime member of Grace Church of the Nazarene in Austin. He was preceded in death by an infant son.

Survivors include his wife of Austin; two sons, Hudson Allen Jr. and Milton Allen, both of Austin; daughters, Virginia Allen Lolly Salazar and Doris Drummond, all of Austin; a brother, Mickey Horton of Houston; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Belton High School Ex-Students Assn.; your local Humane Society; or the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cook-Walden Funeral Home in Austin.
