About 1915 William married May E. Tydesley and was working as Chief Engineer of the Windsor Mill Canada Paper Mill when their son was born.
In 1925 Willie and May settled in Jacksonville, Florida, where he was the superintendent of a large commercial office building and the family became American citizens.
