Georgia Mardelle Ryan, 86, Blair, died Friday, Sept. 7, at the Carter House Assisted Living Facility in Blair.
Georgia Mardelle Kuhr was born June 13, 1921, in Blair, to George H. and Sorena (Jensen) Kuhr. She was the youngest of three children.
She grew up on the family farm near Blair and attended Blair schools, graduating in 1938.
Following a short time when she worked as a secretary to the superintendent of the Blair Schools, she married Kelly P. Ryan, Dec. 28, 1941, at her parents' home in Blair.
The Ryans lived in Omaha from 1941 until 1943 and then moved to Blair.
Mrs. Ryan was a devoted wife, and supported her husband in both of their family businesses: the Kelly Ryan Equipment Company and the Blair Marina.
Following a stroke in December 2002, she was a resident at Crowell Memorial Home, Pawnee Manor and, for the past year, Carter House.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years; Kelly P. Ryan; and a brother, J. Merton Kuhr.
Survivors include: her four children and their spouses, James P. and Susan Ryan, Blair; Nancy M. and Gail Frazier, Logan; Janis M. and Lee Rogge, Pawnee City, Neb.; and Kathleen A. and Steven Cook, Blair;
