Rev. Peter Atkinson, 86, retired Baptist minister, died at 10 pm Tuesday, November 8th at his home in Slat. He was a former pastor of Gap Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Angie Atkinson, three daughters, Mrs. Ellen Russell and Mrs. Margie Russell, both of New Castle, Ind., and Mrs. May Crabtree, Losantville, Ind. and six sons, John Atkinson, Owensboro, Ky., Henry Atkinson, Hidalgo, Ky., Elvis Atkinson, Spiceland, Ind., William Atkinson and Elmer Atkinson, both of Monticello and Hubert Atkinson.
Funeral services were held at 10 am Thursday at the Gap Creek Church by Rev. Henderson Sloan and Rev. Roy Burk. Music was furnished by the church choir. Burial was in the church cemetery with five grandsons and Oscar Pennycuff as casket bearers.
The Richard R. Lee Funeral Home was in charge.
