Robert A. Ehlert, 41, of River Oaks, Fergus Falls, formerly of Foxhome, died at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, Aug. 6, 1995, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Aug. 16, 1953, in Breckenridge the son of Robert and Darlene (Anderson) Ehlert. He grew up on a farm in Andrea Township, Wilkin County, rural Foxhome and attended elementary school in Foxhome. He graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1971. Following graduation he joined the National Guard and served for many years.

On June 27, 1975, he married JoAnn Huse at St. Mary's Church in Breckenridge. They made their home in Fergus Falls. Mr. Ehlert farmed the family farm in Andrea Township with his father and later his brother, Paul. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, carpentry, farming, helping others and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He had also received his EMT license.

Preceding him in death were his father, one sister, Carrie Jo and one great uncle, Ralph Ehlert.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn; two daughters, Kerri and Kelsey Ehlert of Fergus Falls; two sons, Robert "Rob" and Andrew "Andy" of Fergus Falls; his mother, Darlene of Foxhome; two sisters, Carol (Wayne "Bozo") Colby and Caren Deal all of Wahpeton, two brothers, Paul (Jane) and Bill {Liz) all of Foxhome, his mother-in-law, Joyce Huse of St Paul; four sisters-in-law, Jill (Steve) Kohler of Alexandria, Janet Nowling of Blaine, Roni Wood and Robin Huse both of St. Paul and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation: 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Olson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and will continue Wednesday morning at the funeral home from 9 to 9:45 a.m.

Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Fergus Falls
