Lonnie P. Reed, Jr. Dies Following Heart Attack

Lonnie P. Reed, Jr., 43 year old Brookhaven businessman, died unexpectedly in King's Daughters Hospital May 24th following a heart attack he suffered earlier in the day at the Quick Service Laundry plant which he owned.

A native Lincoln Countian, Mr. Reed had resided at 402 South Cleveland Street for the past 10 years. He was a veteran of World War II. He attended the Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Reed; mother, Mrs. Lillie M. Reed of Brookhaven; a son, Pat Reed; two daughters Frances and Lela Milissa Reed; three brothers, Clarence and W. C. Reed both of Jackson, and C. P. Reed of Ferriday, La.; a sister, MRs. Mary Nell Smith of Freeport, Texas.

Funeral services were held May 26 at 3:30 p.m. from Hartman's Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Ramsey officiating. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eli Ellis, Garland Davis, Kelly Conn, Leonard McCullough, GLenn Day and Tom Henderson.

Funeral services for Lonnie P. Reed, Jr., 43 year old Brookhaven businessman, were held May 26 at 3:30 pm.m from Hartman's Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Ramsey officiating. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites. Ministers assisting Dr. Ramsay were Rev. Ralph Brady and Rev. J. R. Sartin.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Brookhaven Exchange Club. Active pallbearers were Eli Ellis, Garland Davis, Kelly Conn, Tom Henderson, Leonard McCullough and Glenn Day.
